South Sudan is the only Christian nation in the 1040 Window. Please Pray NOW! Fighting broke out in Juba, South Sudan, in mid-December, then spread. The unrest pits President Salva Kiir's SPLA government forces against rebels loyal to former vice president Riek Machar. Three weeks of fighting, which began in Juba but spread beyond, often along ethnic fault-lines, have killed more than a thousand people, forced a cut in oil output and left the world's newest state on the brink of civil war. Juba has been largely calm since the early clashes, though there was also a brief gun fight on Saturday evening and residents talk of growing tensions.We need to cry out to the Lord God Almighty to STOP the demonic forces trying to annihilate the people in this Christian nation. Like the children of Israel, many forgot the Lord since the independence of South Sudan. Pray for the nation to turn back to the Lord and love Him with all of their hearts, souls, minds, and all their strength (The Bible, Mark 12:30).
- The Church must understand this atrocity against the Lord and lead the nation into repentance. Pray the Church walks in humility. Pray they seek the Lord's Face and turn from their wicked ways. Pray Christian Believers cry out to the Lord to forgive them for forsaking Him (The Bible, II Chronicles 7:14).
- Christians globally to join South Sudan Christians to beseech the Lord to release an understanding of His amazing love. Pray that in the Lord's mercy He heals the deep wounds in the hearts of the people. Pray God heals the land of years of bloodshed (The Bible, Ezekiel 21:6).
- God's people walk in their calling to be peacemakers in the nation. Pray the Lord uses Christians to bring comfort and healing in the hearts of the people (The Bible, Matthew 5:9).
- The violence and fighting to stop. Pray the Lord brings the necessary solution for a long lasting peace (The Bible, Isaiah 55:6-13).
- Protection of the civilian population. Pray the Lord's mighty angels surround their homes and shield their families from hurt, harm, and danger (The Bible, 2 Samuel 22: 3-4).
- Pray the peace talks in Addis Abba resolve the issues causing this uprising (The Bible, James 3:18).
- The Lord's Presence to cover the talks in Addis Abba, Ethiopia, directing those in attendance to a resolution that brings permanent peace to South Sudan (The Bible, Psalm 34:14).
- Many Christians are roaming in the bush without the necessities of life. Pray these Christians needs are met and they boldly share the Gospel. Pray their faith is strengthened and the Lord uses them to strengthen others (The Bible, Romans 5:3).
