AWEIL, 02 January 2014 [Gurtong]-  This comes following the celebration of the family ceremony held after the Christmas where almost all family residents attended the function.

Speaking to the 11 elected committee officials, the reverend of the parish Fr. Natale Baak encouraged the newly elected people to serve with transparency, wisdom, equality justice and Christ virtues.

“You are tasked with very important role to play as the servant of God. You will be judged according to your performances and what services that you deliver to your fellow married couples whose harmony, peace, unity and love fall under your mandate,” he said to the committee.

During the function, the committee was made to aware of what functions to performance and what limits of conflict to handle.

They were also told to help the priests in handling the issues.

“Your duties include reconciling the families with discomfort and those with misunderstanding so that they live in a happy life of marriages in order to help bring up their kids to the next generation,” the Reverend told the committee.

The priest also said that the priests in the parish shall be any more responsible of handling any slight family disputes or disagreement since the family shall help coordinate such issues unless with complicated matters that may need intervention from the parish administration.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, Madam Julia Adhel Guot says one of the objectives is to help counsel the families especially to properly look after their children loitering on the streets.

“This committee shall make sure that heads of the families especially mothers are counselled to educate their children so that they are maintained at homes. We do not need any family that allows their children to loitering in the markets while the parents are drinking themselves somewhere,” Adhel assured the public.
