Sudan has more than 140 pyramids.Sudan is growing into a popular destination with Western tourists, however most Arab travelers have yet to explore this Arab-African country which offers unique sightseeing.
With a total area of 1.88 million square kilometers, Sudan is the second biggest African country after Algeria.The Blue Nile and White Nile merge in the capital of Khartoum, before the world’s longest river continues its upward journey to Egypt. Sudan also has seven nature reserves and a Red Sea marine sanctuary.
The country offers safari parks, where visitors can observe wildlife animals and birds at close range, in addition to exploring some 140 pyramids in the Nubian desert. It is home to the Meroe civilization, which developed an alphabet, and appears extensively in ancient Greek and Roman literature.
The Sudanese Tourism Ministry Deputy, Graham Abdul Baky, says tourism revenue increased over the past three years to $2.7 billion last year, thanks to more than one million tourists who visited the country during the same period.
